Hi, Melissa -- yes, I'm getting (and appreciating) your emails.

Thank you for letting me know. I’m really glad the emails are reaching you and that you’re finding them worthwhile. I appreciate your continued support more than you know.

I was skeptical about this, and why not? It came with a host of other totally fake gibberish which is the bane of my life. I was reluctant to even waste time clicking on you, Edna was the account I was exploring --- but, yes, it makes perfect sense. Did you ask if it made sense? Yes it makes sense.

It is buried in a pile of rubbish. That is the only problem.

Our society is literally DYING. This is a totally dysfunctional society, incapable of doing a thing as simple as putting writers with writing jobs. I have been writing twenty years or more, since getting an original idea that is a bit too complicated to explain now.

So, yes, I am perfectly interested in getting a "remote writing job." As I am NOT remotely wealthy.

Now that I have you, RWJ, give me a good reason to subscribe. I am living more or less home-lessly. I write on Substack but my pieces are not that good. I like to collaborate.

I like free stuff and mostly take "refuge" from the MONEY$ economy. As I said, my pieces are not that good. But I know something about writing by now and there may be a piece I could write and since my take will be original, there is no substitute for that.

I just do not care about money and do not seek it out.

Thank you for taking the time to write this and for giving RWJ a closer look. I hear where you’re coming from especially about how difficult it can be to sort through what’s real and what isn’t. That’s a large part of why I built this. RWJ is meant to cut through that noise and make paid writing opportunities easier to find, clearer to understand, and worth your time. It won’t fix everything about the system but it can make the search more direct and reliable. Given your situation, submitting a hardship request via remotewritingjobs.org/access is the best next step. I review those and match them with donated subscriptions as they become available.

already hit the barrier. To “submit” I clicked something. What did I get? A choice of google, etc. So I picked google and just got a google home page. What do you want me to do? What is a “mail-to” provision? What does “mail-to” mean?

This absolutely did NOT work. You just wasted my time, that is all you did.

I tried to cooperate with this, by signing into google, for which there were numerous security checks, etc. And then, guess what? Simply the Google home page.

What do you think you are doing wrong? Why wouldn’t you give me an email address to write my “hardship request” or whatever it is called?

Why does it work this way?

I honestly do not know what I am supposed to do.

Thanks for trying to submit the request and for explaining what you’re seeing. The “mailto” link is designed to open your email app with a draft message ready to send. If it opens a browser instead it means your device doesn’t have a default email app set or it isn’t recognizing one. That’s why you’re being redirected to a homepage. To move forward, you can submit your hardship request by emailing it directly to rwjsubstack@gmail.com. Once it’s received I’ll review it and follow up from there. I want to make sure this process is clear and accessible and I’m glad to help with that. I do ask that communication stay respectful so I can continue supporting people effectively.

Respectfully, I detect a certain amount of fraudulence in you. You need to take a more critical stance. I do; it is not difficult because I am sleeping in public as I do not have much money. But, also, I can be seen as someone who ENTIRELY rejects the society I live it.

If you participate in the existing institutions of society, they will take you down with them. I know it seems innocuous or “the best that we can do,” but in my experience it always turns out to be worse than anyone is telling you. Instead, I would suggest that you and other persons learn how the world REALLY functions; and I myself learned a lot from Substack. This is over a number of years. But, after all, one of my personal favorites, Paul Bowles, wrote ‘travel’ articles for money. So therefore I will TRY rwjsubstack@gmail.com. best, Jacob of “jacob’s Newsletter” [note caitalizations]

Jacob, while I sincerely hope things improve for you and your outlook, your message is out of line. Being called fraudulent is a baseless and disrespectful accusation and I won’t continue this conversation any further.

It is a very friendly message. No need to be upset. I detected some fraudulence. Clearly, you cannot handle being told this. Here we seen to have a person who is completely unable to receive a message from another person. However, I suppose if what I wrote was just a bunch of gibberish, that would be fine! You simply heard what a person had to say. Some honest communication was offered. Then you called it "out of line," which is more gibberish.
