The Next Step in Paying Writers Well
Your support is making something real possible.
Thank you to everyone who has sent a pitch so far. The response has been both humbling and energizing with well over a hundred writers sharing ideas shaped by experience, curiosity, and conviction. I’m reading through each one with care and the selection process is still underway. Every pitch is being considered with the attention it deserves.
The in-house publication is almost ready to open its first cycle of commissioned work. I’m looking for writers with voice, perspective, and something true to say about the craft, culture, or business of writing. If you have an idea that stays with you, unsettles you, or reveals something about how writers move through the world, I want to see it.
RWJ pays $0.50/word for accepted work. Paying writers fairly is a core part of this mission, and thanks to a growing base of paid subscribers and the generous tips many of you have sent in recent days, I’m getting close to launching the first round of commissioned pieces. With a little more support, I’ll be able to open that door fully and bring more writers into this work.
If you believe in the work I’m doing to build a fairer, more honest writing economy and want to help bring this vision to life, here are the ways you can directly support it:
For the stories we carry,
Melissa Tripp, Founder of RWJ
