RWJ has always been about more than just helping writers find jobs.

Even when the work is there writers still move through exhaustion, creative distance, uncertainty, life changes, grief, burnout, financial pressure, and seasons where words don’t arrive the way they once did.

That’s part of why I created Write What’s Still Here: Prompts for Writers Between Seasons.

I wrote it during a period where my own relationship to writing had changed completely and I needed a way to approach the page without force, performance, or the pressure to sound like a previous version of myself.

It became something less rigid than a productivity tool and more honest than a traditional writing guide for writers to return to themselves gently.
